The Black Maria Studio is not a place, not an organization, not an agency, not a project, but is all this together. It was born in Turin, around a desk in rusted metal, and is inspired by the homonymous study of Thomas Edison, which embodies the spirit of the inventor. The Black Maria Studio operater through cross-media platforms and expanded audiovisual equipments, using image and digital sound capture technology at state-of-the-art. But it does not only deals with the production of audiovisuals, because, if this is possible, the Black Maria Studio invents and creates sets, costumes, music, photographs, graphics, technical tools, recycled design objects and so on.
