    Maria Nicola was born in Turin in 1959, the year of the Cuban Revolution. She translates from Spanish, and has translated from English and French.

    Hers are some of the versions of Latin American authors like Roberto Bolaño, Mario Bellatin, Antonio Di Benedetto, Alberto Manguel, Alan Pauls, Juan Rulfo, Juan José Saer, Samanta Schweblin, David Tuscany. Among the Spanish authors, loves to remember expeciallu Francisco Casavella and its Day of Watusso. She collaborates with Sellerio, Einaudi, Minimum Fax. She taught translation at the University "Suor Orsola Benincasa" of Naples and at the graduate school for literary translators "TuttoEuropa" of Turin.
